Salt Room and Salt Therapy

Serving Margate, Coconut Creek, Coral Springs, Deerfield Beach, Parkland, Pompano Beach & Surrounding Areas

Visualize a Hawaiian beach and imagine breathing in the fresh salty air while treating your respiratory and immune systems to a natural cleaning.

Our Salt Room is pretty unique. We made it look like you’re sitting on the beach in Hawaii, complete with sand (actually Himalayan salt) under your feet, a sunset to gaze at, and a volcano in the distance. Wear your flip flops & bring your beach read. 30 Minutes is all you need as our pure pharmaceutical grade salt concentration is high and effective.

It’s all part of “treating the whole body” and getting health benefits that are tied to relaxation and the body’s “mood.” For some people, salt therapy helps with breathing issues – for others, it helps with athletic performance or virus recovery. Proponents of salt therapy describe it as a respiratory cleansing process, where little bits of salt move through the body’s respiratory system and clean out the lungs while potentially delivering an immune system boost.

Salt Therapy Rooms – no longer a passing trend

If you’re not familiar with salt therapy, visit Aloha Foot Spa & Salt Room, conveniently located in Margate, to experience why many people use this convenient type of relaxation to cleanse the body. We are just a short trip from Coral Springs, Parkland, Deerfield Beach and Pompano Beach.

When you arrive at our spa, you’ll see this service being utilized in addition to foot massage / foot reflexology. Once checked in, you will be seated comfortably in the salt room, without disrobing or going through any special process. Also known as Halotherapy, salt therapy is known for its healing aspects. It has become so popular, that there are machines sold to use salt therapy as a treatment at home. Our salt room is room temperature and has actual Himalayan salt flooring, as well as a vista of a Hawaiian beach complete with a distant volcano. It’s an experience that is bringing clients a feeling of general good health.

For the best benefit, remember to breathe through your nose and out your mouth to focus on and naturally clear your sinuses, asthma allergies (COPD) and air passages. Breathe through your mouth and out your nose to detoxify your lungs.

What is Dry Salt Therapy?

Dry salt therapy, or halotherapy, is a holistic, drug free, natural therapy using micro particles of salt to promote better breathing, healthier skin, sounder sleep, improved physical fitness and endurance and overall wellness. Dry salt therapy also helps to alleviate symptoms of many respiratory and skin conditions.

How it works

Lung airways
Salt has the following properties:

  • Antibacterial
  • Anti-inflammatory
  • Mucolytic effects: loosens excessive mucus and speeds up mucociliary transport
  • Removes pathogen agents (airborne pollen)
  • Reduces IgE level (immune system oversensitivity)

The salt is grounded into tiny micro particles by our state-of-the-art halogenerator and then dispersed into the salt room or bed. While relaxing in one of our salt rooms or beds, customers inhale the dry, salt-enriched air deep down into the lungs, where the healing benefits do their greatest healing. The salt widens the airways and loosens the mucus, which begins to clear quickly, and inflammation is reduced, which makes more room in the airways for you to breathe. Symptoms subside, sometimes for up to 12 months. The non-inhaled particles landing on the skin help to balance pH and induce the repairative and regenerative processes in the skin, increasing rigidity and stimulating cell growth and microcirculation.

Salt Therapy is a natural way to cleanse your lungs and skin.

You brush your teeth and comb your hair, right? Well what do you do for your lungs and your respiratory system? Our salt acts as a “bronchial brush,” and gets deep in the respiratory system where it destroys harmful microorganisms, cleanses, and enhances the body’s immune system. With increased pollution and smog and decreased exposure to nature and clean air, more and more people are developing breathing issues. Salt Therapy exists to help counteract and prevent these issues. Our goal is to help you be proactive with your health, and if you already have a breathing issue or skin issue, we seek to help you keep it in check. BUT, Salt Therapy isn’t just for addressing breathing and skin issues–the general health benefits are quite numerous! Salt Therapy can help combat jet lag, help athletes increase athletic performance, accelerate recovery from the cold and flu, and more!

Salt Room F.A.Q.s

What should I wear?

Flip Flops for shoes. For clothing, wear whatever’s comfortable. If your main goal is to treat a skin issue, try to leave that area uncovered as much as possible. A swimsuit would be preferable.

It is perfectly fine to go in the Salt Room with normal clothes on, but do realize they will get tiny particles of salt on them.

Is the room heated?

The Salt Room is not heated and is kept at normal room temperature.

Are there any negative side effects?

No, but please read the question below about who should not attend a salt session.

Who should not attend a Salt Session?

Anyone with a fever, open wounds or sores, tuberculosis, lung cancer, or contagious conditions. If you are questioning whether you should attend a salt session, please consult your doctor.

How often should I come?

Everyone is different, but the general rule is that the more often and more consistent you come, the better results you are likely to see. However, we do have guests who come to help alleviate seasonal allergies or a buildup of mucous in flu season. How often you should come depends on how you feel. We suggest trying a few sessions and then gauging your results.

How does it work?

Dry pharmaceutical grade salt is heated, grinded, and crushed into tiny micro-particles which are dispersed into the room. As our guests relax in our Salt Room, the micro-particles are inhaled and make their way deep into the respiratory system to begin their healing journey. Dry salt is anti-inflammatory, which results in reduced inflammation in the entire respiratory tract, widening of the airway passages, accelerated transport of mucus, elimination of tar and foreign allergens, and an improved immune system. Dry salt is also absorbent and anti-bacterial. It acts like a sponge attracting foreign substances along its path through the respiratory tract. The salt acts like a toothbrush and cleans the respiratory system by removing build up. The larger micro-particles that aren’t inhaled will fall onto the skin, thus also providing skin benefits. Salt Therapy can help increase circulation, normalize pH levels, induce reparative and regenerative processes in the derma, increase skin rigidity stimulate cell turnover, and more.
